Let's break Johnny's surfboard1

What's Johnny's problem before he dies? Why can't Johnny seem to understand that drinking more out of his bottle should leave less tequila in the bottle, not more. In the scene where he dies, he seems to not remember from shot to shot which hand he's holding the alcohol in. We really wish Johnny would have met this fate on the cliff, preferrably before he met Marissa in the first place.
Why couldn't Johnny just be happy with the younger Cooper girl, it seemed to be what he was going for. If he had no qualms with tempting a girl already in a relationship, why did he suddenly become so morally upstanding when Kaitlin mentioned her age.
Kaitlin wasn't she like totally, not only using Johnny to partake in sibling rivalry, but...she's totally to blame! But it's not that I can't sleep at night.
